You have a point about the quality of the motherboard being used to rate the systems. However, there is also the issue of availability, and I'm not sure if Asus or many others have available KT266A platforms to review. If they do, then maybe Frank Völkel and Bert Töpelt should have used it to make things more fair. I don't see how penalizing the Pentium 4 by an ECS board would have "leveled the playing field", since the Asus board is available for the Pentium 4 for some time now. It's always been an acceptable practice from reviewers to use what's available, rather than speculating what "could" be available in the future.
