You do realize len, that in 1947 there was no concept of "Palestine" as a Arab country? Contemporary accounts do not use the word "Palestinian", rather, they talk about "Arab refugees from Palestine". Only the Zionists thought of Palestine as a country, so only they had the institutions of a state ready. The Arabs still thought of Palestine as a province of Syria under temporary British control. They had no institutions of a state, since there had never been a Palestinian state, and anyway the local elite all skipped town before the end of the Mandate. (They are actually held in low regard in the Middle East I'm told, for not staying and fighting.)

Now, if you buy into bin Laden's view that any piece of land that has once been Muslim must always remain Muslim, that's another story. Are you too still mad over the loss of Andalusia like bin Laden is?
