What could anyone do to him for being overly optimistic? Take him to court, for one thing. If he has any sense that the deals will not go through then he should not be using them to talk up the stock in a forum viewed by many investors. Whatever disclaimers a company may use regarding "forward looking statements" they are not immune to charges that their statements deliberately misled the public.
