CARMANAH’S ISO CERTIFICATION RENEWED BY KPMG Victoria, British Columbia – October 31, 2001 – Carmanah Technologies Corporation. (CMH - CDNX) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Carmanah Technologies Inc(“Carmanah”), has successfully passed the KPMG semi-annual audit for renewal of its certification as an ISO 9001:1994.
During the Periodic Assessment, the KPMG assessor did not identify any major non-conformances, indicating that the quality management system at Carmanah continues to operate effectively. The Company is also in an ideal position to implement the updated ISO 9001:2000 standards, which features additional customer-focused criteria. Mr. Chuck Francis, Carmanah’s COO, states “During our audit, we asked KPMG to also perform a preliminary review of our current management systems with reference to the ISO 9001:2000 standards. It was KPMG’s perspective that Carmanah will be ready to officially update its certification during the next assessment, currently scheduled for October of 2002.”
