LONDON, (October 29, 2001) – InfoSpace has integrated eDirectory’s services into its e-shopping channel. This e-shopping channel solution is now provided across a broad range of InfoSpace’s affiliate and partner sites throughout the UK. Current UK clients of InfoSpace include AOL.co.uk, Netscape.co.uk, FT.com, Telegraph.co.uk and Orange.net. eDirectory will provide InfoSpace with re-brandable (“white label”) online shopping services to be implemented across current and future InfoSpace affiliate websites in the UK. This service will be based on eDirectory's extensive online database of consumer goods and will use eDirectory's proprietary and secure e-commerce systems. Alex Hurd, InfoSpace Europe's Director of Merchant Services, comments: "This agreement provides significant benefits for both parties. InfoSpace's shopping channel will be greatly improved by eDirectory's massive merchant and product range. Meanwhile, eDirectory will benefit from InfoSpace's broad distribution network. Growing together, the two parties will be greater than the sum of their parts. This formula is consistent with InfoSpace's philosophy of evolving, not revolutionising, consumers' attitudes to buying on-line.” Managing Director of eDirectory.co.uk Plc, Dominic Allonby comments: "InfoSpace has significant traffic reach in the UK, and eDirectory will add to this a unique combination of products, proprietary technology and innovative shopping facilities. This is an exciting development for our company and demonstrates our position as the UK’s leading shopping content provider“ |
