It took me about a dozen mouses to figure out it is cheaper to just smash the remotes.

However, I am in therapy now and doing much better. I've only smashed one in the last maybe three months.

The unfortunate part is thatthe initial toss across the room was intended to go into the sofa for a soft landing but it was high and outside going right through one of my storm windows.
