Bob

I have never used Norton's firewall. I am very happy with ZoneAlarm and have not found it to conflict with any program I use. I don't know if NetBeui would be any different. Configuration is a breeze. On first attempt to connect to the internet you can give the program permission or deny it on a one time or continuing basis. I also us MedVed. (great program-not a paid ad <gg>). The router and ZA should make you feel snug as a bug in a rug. I have also seen many recommendations for Tiny Personal Firewall but I found it too difficult to configure.

On the subject of XP. I have had "process 948" and "process 943" try ask for server permission and can't find any info on either. I immediately ran a trojan scanner and a virus scan but both reported clean and I have not noticed any ill effects since allowing both. Neither shows up in ZoneAlarm's list of programs. Does anyone know anything about either one?
