Yes, we have pilots that go out on the tugs, but they historically don't board all ships that arrive. Not to mention that it would be nearly impossible to inspect ALL containers on ALL ships. It seems I read a post somewhere else suggesting that all containers be off loaded onto some kind of conveyor that runs them through scanners.

I saw an article on the news last week that in SF harbor, armed pilots are boarding all ships trying to come into port. I assume they are doing the same in the ports of Seattle/Tacoma?
