I don't have proof, but I do remember at least one quarter Intel claimed they where grabbing market share or holding steady when they where losing a lot of market share. Unfortunately its not like these statements are recorded for all time on some centralized easy to find place. Proof is hard to come by but I do remember that the statements happened.

I don't think it is an extraordinary claim to say a company official made an inaccurate statement. Certainly Jerry Sanders has made many inaccurate statements over the years and he is hardly the only corporate official who does this. Of course to say that he is a liar you would also have to show that he knew the information was inaccurate and I can't prove that because I cannot read minds, so the charge that Intel's executives where lying was perhaps a bit strong. I change it to they made inaccurate statements about market share over the last couple of years.
