There is no contradiction. You quote parts of my statement out of context. The name "Athlon XP 1800+ itself makes no statement of fact. AMD has made statements in addition to the name claiming that the processor with that name is as fast or faster then then an 1800mhz P4. So if there is a lie it is not the whole scheme but rather AMD's specific statement about how fast the CPU is. I submit that AMD's statement is not a lie because on most software a PC with an Athlon XP 1800+ will be at least as fast as a P4 1800mhz system. In fact it will often be faster then a P4 2000 mhz system.
