I'd never joke about unemployment. Officially 12%, and 20-25% unemployed in the Canadian Maritime provinces. Just saw this while web surfing: Canada's jobless rate rose to a two-year high of 7.3 per cent in October – up 1/10th of a percentage point from September – as layoffs in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks added to existing weakness in the economy. cbc.ca
