Ish; It won't do any good to hope it won't happen,
if we don't start checking the cargo containers
before they come in it's just a matter of when it
will happen
none of us know how soon or far
out that could be, they could be on the way as I type
or they may let us lull into thinking we don't need
to worry about it.
I don't want to get into the mainstream of media
thought or about suitcase nukes or stuff that could
blow up New Jersey. From the terrorist point of view
he don't need to blow up a whole city to disable it.
A cargo container with a simple but large conventional charge salted with radio active iodine or such
could do all he wants.
If they could hijack 4 planes in one afternoon I suspect
that with less planing than taht took they could make
and ship us some dirty bombs from at least 4 different
ports and perhaps send as many as 2 dozen to as many
different ports in the U.S. to all arrive within a few days
of one another.
I'm reasonably sure that they will not want to chance
targeting a single port knowing we will move to
tighten the security after the first one goes off.

If we don't nail down a way to check all cargo
containers before they enter our ports
That is the big loop hole..
I'm not so concerned about the stuff the Harbor Master
of Boston said he is ( LNG ships ) it's not easy
for terrorists to take over a ship once it's in our
harbors and run it into something , however
container ships can be an easy delivery system for
a bomb hidden in a container that can be triggered via a cell phone call.
We get hundreads of them every week & with tens of
thousands of containers any of which could have
dirty bombs planted in them.
