After going more than two years without making any money, SGI chief executive Bob Bishop says his troubled computer hardware company has finally hit bottom, and it's in position to climb. If he's right, a projected increase in the company's defense business could help end a half-decade depression for SGI, a one-time Silicon Valley starlet that suffered crippling market-share losses while Wall Street celebrated the dot-com heyday.
