Why not? You act as if you are so concerned about human life, when the lack of oil would mean the death of hundreds of millions. Or do you suppose there are enough draft horses left in North America to haul grain to the 20 million in the New York Metro area from even so close as Pennsylvania? Do you actually believe the North American agribusiness could even DREAM of supporting the 300 odd million in North America without the mechanization made possible by oil, let alone transport it? Do you believe the North American water and sewage systems would just magically continue working without fuel for the generators and pumps that keep us watered and not drowning in feces? Do you get the picture yet?

I would rather send myself, my wife, and everyone I love to kill and be killed for oil than see countless millions die because of a political naivete.
