Some senior officials suspect the anthrax letters are the work of domestic extremists fueled by anti- government hatred. Others lean toward Islamic militants overseas, possibly linked to the Sept. 11 attacks. A few believe the material was sent by a disturbed loner with a personal grievance. I certainly hope the FBI is looking beyond the US at anthrax cases overseas, and linking everything, not only the US cases. So far we have 2 or 3 confirmed cases in Pakistan (who intially kept it under wrap to avoid panic), and cases in several other middle east countries, which may or may not be hoaxed.
