EMC (EMC: news, chart, profile) received positive mention in the current issue of Barron's, which said a priority focus on data security by corporations and government entities following the events of Sept. 11 will drive a rebound in demand for EMC's products. The report notes that while demand has slowed of late, data growth has not. When demand returns, EMC chairman Mike Ruettgers believes the company will be able to retain its commanding market share lead, the weekly business magazine reported. Ruettgers feels EMC's $5 billion in cash will let it bide time until the demand does return. The stock closed Friday up 6 cents at $13.09.
