They are false for two reasons.

1. While it is true that a few psychotic fanatics may have a death wish, their psychosis does not apply to the societies in which they hide. The love of life is universal and while a few may be poisoned by hate the vast majority have no wish to die.

2. The only reason MAD worked was that there was no bluff involved. Those who believe otherwise are gravely mistaken. While it is true that sufficient provocation has yet to be given to trigger a one-sided Armageddon, there should be no illusion on anyone's part that there does not exist a line which if crossed would do so. Probing for that line is the height of folly.
