CANDLE COLORS

I've noticed that QQL uses fills candles of two colors, red and green, (or red and black depending on the background.) This through me off at first. Traditionally, candlesticks have not been different colors. If the close was less than the open, you got a filled candlestick and if the close was higher than the open, you get a hollow (white) candlestick. It turns out QQL uses candlesticks which are not only based on the current day's open and close, but also yesterday's close. The excellent website stockcharts.com also uses the same coloring technique for their candles. You can find a good explanation for this coloring technique there at:
