Bill- No one should confuse what is being posted on sites like silicon investor with what mainstream America thinks.

silicon investor IMO is not a reliable indicator of sentiment. silicon investor may have somewhat of a cross section of the population, but I doubt if the average joe is represented properly.

Why is that important?

Well, I believe it's important because people who think that the U.S. won't take whatever steps are necessary, including mass annihilation, based on what is posted here, (si) are mistaken.

The fireman fought (physically fought) with the police the other day about certain things at the WTC site. Think about that. IMO the people are angry, and their anger grows deeper every day. Sooner or later, we're going to start making the demands of the politicians, and if they don't start doing what is necessary in the eyes of the people, they're going to be voted out of office, and people that will take the steps will be voted in.

The reason I say this is because while 50 or 100 years doesn't sound like a lot when it's spoken, as time goes by, the realities of that time frame will start to sink in.
