Elmer & Intel Investors - I am going to make a long term prediction.

The constant daily reports of Anthrax-contaminated letters - and now a cyanide-laced letter - will lead to a rapid decline in the use of physical mail as a means for communications, billing, advertising, etc.

With the cat out of the bag (or Pandora's Box being open) , the only viable solution may be to do away with conventional mail as we now know it - where practical.

This will lead to increased reliance on electronic mail for more commercial and business applications, necessitating the use of more computers, servers, "electonic money", and authentication services for bill delivery and payment.

Households that currently don't have Internet service - or computers - may be forced to add these out of safety and security concerns, if for no other reason.

The use of on-line billing and bill payment will see a surge in usage.

This may be yet another opportune time for modern technology to assist in the security of our every day lives.
