Flap yes it was a problem but look it is always the Democrats who want status quo and thrive under vague complex laws. In essence I believe the Democrats like the idea of every person being a potential law-breaker so they can target them when they want to. It is a vulgar statement of law to say that I owe you money and that you don't tell me what I owe but if I make a mistake in figuring out what I owe you, you might punish me or even put me in jail.

Even a flat tax can have a graduated system. But remember that under Forbes plan the poor and middle class pay nothing in taxes. That's what the Dems always state they want. But I don't really believe they do. Three years ago the IRS went after a waitress who made 12K a year. She was single. They wanted her to pay 4k in penalties claiming that her 10 % declaration in tips was false. The judge threw the case out. She claimed that the people in her poor area gave only 10 % not 15 % in tips. Where was the ACLU and all the other civil rights people ? Out to lunch as usual
