Many lives ARE in jeopardy. Our Federal Agencies
are staffed by people who cannot be fired or effective disciplined because of Civil Service tenure.
The result over many years has been a continuing growth of malfesance in every government dept that reached massive proportions during the past 10 years. By the end of the Clinton years most agencies could not even balance their books!!
The H&HS, particularly the Dept of Education, was so bad that one of the big private accounting agencies declined to tackle the mess stating the situation was beyond reconciliation from an accounting standpoint. There are billions and billions of dollars involved and nobody knows where the money went!!
But until the end of last year the private economy was still is such a spectacular boom that the news media hardly mentioned the collapse of financial management throughout our central government.
If this and the endless parade of boondoggles, fiascos, botched investigations and corruption is incomprehensible to you or anyone else here? Then STOP relying on the liberal biased Big 3. New York based, TV networks who down play or refuse to report the growing systemic failure of central government functioning.
FOX TV and Drudge and NewsMax are better. Also try to keep an eye on Canadian, British and other news sources for information on the US that the Big 3 networks have for years been editing out as politically incorrect or embarrassing to our politicians and government bureaucrats.
For most Americans, Washington is hundreds or even thousands of miles away. That, the selective news they ARE fed and their heavy work schedules has put the growing paralysis of our basically non-functional central government "out of sight and out of mind."
What we have is Government by Press Conference. Then there's little or nothing in the way of actual follow through. The bureaucracy is simply become overwhelmed with dead wood to respond.
If my view is correct? It's likely the terrorists will continue to inflict one massive hammer blow after another until the nation realizes we have no functional central government.
Perhaps then, when no amount of PR, spin and Monday morning butt covering can hide the truth, perhaps the current Civil Service Law will be repealed and replaced with a new law that mandates termination of incompetent, irresponsible and untrustworthy employees.
We don't have tenure in private industry. Why should government workers be a privilaged class that now puts the domestic security at serious risk?!
