Hi Tc,

I sure am having trouble with Zone Alarm and XP. I got it installed on all 3 machines (2 are WinMe) and the network was working fine. All the machines were able to see each other and go on line with no problem. Then all of a sudden the network stopped working. The Adapter Subnet(nic card) just disappeared from the Zone Alarm Security box on the XP machine. I uninstalled ZA and reinstalled it and it worked for a couple of hours before the same thing happened.

It probably is because I don't have it configured properly. All I had checked in the security/advanced box was the Adapter Subnet. The problem could also be something I allowed or blocked. For instance I have no idea what "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" or "SNMP Service or Services and controller application" are. :) I also had a DLL that wanted to have server status. No idea what DLL it was but I denied it(I think).<GG> "TCP/IP Services Application" also requested Server status and I think I allowed that one but have no idea why.

I think I need a very loooooong tutorial or an easier program to configure. Is there a firewall program for dummies?

I feel much better now that I have exposed my ignorance for the whole world to see! Guess I will get something to eat and then play some more with the da*n thing. I will provide updates when available.<gg>

Bob
