IP -- the surprise I'm talking about is a peaceful resolution attributed to brute force of the U.S. military. I'm thinking the longer they carry on with the carpet bombing the more the Taliban will become demoralized and the more receptive that all of ME countries will be towards diplomacy.

In Desert Storm the carpet-bombing tactic absolutely demoralized professional solders with real up-to-date weapons, and it didn’t take long – you can only stand the noise for so long…I don't believe the U.S. has turn up the bombing to even a fraction of what they're capable of. Some of the news reports I've read say the bombs that are being dropped now are getting heavier in weight, they're turning fine grain desert sand into powder. I also have no doubt, that we will see this war go nuclear -- it'll be an unforgettable example of violent pacification.

I’m looking for some positive news from the White House here shortly, to mainly offset the negativity in the press this past week and to rally the U.S. public. This in turn will have a negative effect on certain commodities and a slight restoration of consumer confidence before the all important Christmas shopping season.

Regards
Frank P.
