I'm pleased to report that MrL and I didn't allow terrorist threats to get in our way today. We traversed the Vincent Thomas Bridge enroute to our favorite brunch spot in Long Beach. We saw at least 10 or more Highway Patrol cruisers along the way. Definitely a police presence. As for the pace of the war, our society is so attuned to the 10 second sound byte and instant gratification, that there was always the prospect of defeatist rhetoric if the whole thing wasn't over and the villians crushed within 10 days. For such a strong and resilient nation, we sure do have a bunch of dodo's hanging around.
