It really is sad to see how our own system of liberty and justice, and freedom of thoughts and expression is exploited to harm us.
After living in so many Islamic societies for the past 30 years or so it is not really surprising to see this, but still it does hurt!
Just look at this thread and its originator. Here is what he has done (this is the post made to him a few days ago on the Understanding islam thread (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/subject.aspx?subjectid=51780&ff=false&startid=288).

While you have banned/blocked literally everyone on this thread (and most likely already a few people on your own thread) to post anything on your Islam the message thread which is nothing but a self-serving preaching propaganda method in cyberspace, you continue to do your usual Hit and Run posts every time you feel it serves your self-serving purposes.
I guess I can also go ahead and ban and block you from this thread the same way you have done to me and most others. However for me to bring myself down to your level will be against everything that I stand for. I believe in order to continue to prosper in a civilized society everyone - and I mean everyone - should have the right to express his/her opinion in a civil human manner. Even if they are as closed minded and as bigot as you are. It is the freedom of expression, and thoughts that make a society prosper, and not the oppression.
Your very own Islamic societies are the perfect examples of how oppression of thoughts and expressions can prevent them from prospering. And at a much smaller scale if you think your message of Islam thread will be understood by this very small SI community, you may as well have the opinion that the old Soviet Union still exists since it spread its communist ideology through oppressing anyone who was against it, and only voicing those who preached communism!
Therefore go ahead, post your propaganda Hit and Run comments, for which you will eventually be flushed out by the system and will be exposed to what you truly are - And I am not talking about the SI for which it is a small tiny cyberspace society, but rather the society at large here in the free-est thinking place on the planet earth (namely the U.S.). |
