Bob,
First try uninstalling the NIC on the XP machine then reboot
without it, shut down, then reinstall it. If that doesn't work
try this on the XP machine, on the Local Zone security
page where you only have the adopter subnet checked click
the Add tab then add the names and IP addresses of the
other 2 PCs on the network. If you don't know the IP
addresses on the ME boxes, Start> Run type "winipcfg"
click OK. I also have 3 PC networked with Zonealarm on all
3. I have the IP addresses of the other 2 PCs added and checked
on all 3 PCs. I keep Local Security set at Medium. I give
nothing Server permission, I keep Generic Host Process for
Win32 Services set to ask on all permissions then click no
when it makes a request. If that causes a problem I then
give it permission for that one instance. I have SNMP set
the same but don't remember it ever making a request. If you
want/need to put the IP addresses of the other PCs on the
Win ME PCs you'll need the IP address of the XP PC. From a
dos prompt type ipconfig then hit enter.

Hope that solves your problem, SfkaJB
