To this thread - Rudyard Kipling's "Kim" - I highly recommend this book to those interested in background and insight into the subcontinent. A thoroughly enjoyable book filled with relevance for today regarding Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. One of the main protagonists is a Pushtan horse trader. The "Great Game" and the parade of life in the region is fascinating. Karl Wenner
