Thanks Amein. Now that we have established that Mohammad Atta and his 18 buddies are resting in hell, lets talk about heaven and hell a bit.
How does Islam view heaven and hell? In other words what do you think heaven is like based on what Islam says? From your comments a few posts back (and someone else's comments) where it was stated that old women (those that are worthy of going to heaven of course) will be turned into young virgins again once in heaven, and old men (again those that are worthy of going to heaven) will be turned into young attractive men.
It seems to me heaven is viewed in a rather humanistic superficial, and earthly manner, and the subject of Sex which Islam seems to be so obsessed with is taken into heaven also.
I always thought - heaven is a place where it is more spiritual than how things are in this world. Of course that is based on my own faith which is different from Islam. But still, when Islam talks about virgins and young attractive men in heaven, somehow the whole notion of spirituality and purity is taken away and the other world seems to be of no difference than this world, except if you are a good guy and have been admitted into heaven you can have more sex with a lot of virgins! After all, all those suicide bombers are told once they die, God will take them straight to heaven and are given 72 virgins to play with and do whatever they want to them. Where does this notion of 72 virgins come from? Why 72 virgins, and not lets say 40, or 172? How about women who are admitted to heaven? Are they just turned into virgins for the newly admitted men to enjoy, or do they also get a chance to enjoy the young men of their choosing also?
Anyway Can you kindly please elaborate on how Islam views heaven and hell, and what type of place it describes them to be?
Many thanks in advance, |
