War does not preclude the buildout of a phone infrastructure
by INDIA. If India does actually go to war then indeed Qcom would go down. However if there is worldwide conflict when the smoke clears these countries would replace wired with wireless as a better, cheaper Comm's system. As for your second point, I dont nessecarily disagree with the premis. However it is in CHINA's economic interest to develop CDMA as fast as possible. Why? Because ALL OF ITS neibors utilize or plan to adopt CDMA. If China wants to be an economic power they need to be in the industry's of tomorrow and ones which it can sell to its neigbor's. CDMA is a great business for them to buildout to export to USA, INDIA, JAPAN, KOREA etc. If they try to maneuver arround patent's is the real issue. IMHO they wont because ultimatly their bigest markets JAPAN, KOREA, USA and Europe would lose as well therfore balkanizing China politicaly.

That better? I said years ago that CHINA adopts CDMA because its in THEIR BEST ECONOMIC INTEREST, not because they are toying with USA.
