Let's look at the story, which gives only Nancy's side of the story, as reported by an organization which seems to have an up-front agenda.

Story says she was "grabbed" by Armed government agents. Does she really mean she was manhandled? Or just detained. Grabbed makes it much more brutish and fascist.

Then says she was told that her name was flagged in a computer. She decides that she was flagged because the Greens oppose the bombing in Afghanistan. Now how would Nancy know that's the reason? But if that's the case, the airlines are going to lose a lot more business in the future.

Story goes on to say that Military personnel with automatic weapons surrounded Nancy..." Were they the Government agents of the first para or Armed military personnel--or both. How many armed military personnel did it take to "surround" Nancy? Two on each side and one at each end?

Nancy says she was told her ticket wouldn't be refunded. That would be the last straw. Who told her that? She doesn't say.

Then we get to a real mystery. Who cancelled her hotel reservation? The FBI? One of her colleagues at the Chicago meeting afer learning Nancy was barred from flying? We may never have a followup. But if it were the FBI, it showed inordinate consideration on their part.

Then we have the immediate outrage of her party colleagues, running through a Thesaurus of adjectives:
shocked, outraged, chilling, reprehensible.

And that is so. Actually, I find the title of the act insulting and as "scary" as what's in it.

for Ratan Lal who concluded that what happened in Bangor--as reported by Nancy and I tend to think she was stopped -- is a return to McCarthyism.
