KB,

Running hot is the one negative with AMD over Intel and why a lot of box builders don't like them. If the CPU fan fails, you just bought a new MB and CPU.

I used a server case to help it run cooler and added two more fans to the case for a total of four plus the CPU's fan.

The faster the system, the more heat. There is also a separate fan on the MB for the chip set, a separate fan on the video card and a heat sink on each stick of ram.

To increase speed further, they will need to use smaller and smaller components which are in the works.

It is a little noisy, but not that big a deal.

The system is incredible. Sometimes when I click next on SI I wait not realizing the page already turned and I couldn't see it.
