Typo. I think they meant that the OEM deal for the 64-port director and EFCM software opens the door for MCDTA to sells its edge switches -- 9-port, 16-port and 32-port. Qualifying the EFCM management software now makes it easier to add McDATA edge switches later. As expected, Compaq is developing its own storage management software to provide the same functionality that SANavigator already provides now.

So far Compaq has qualified Brocade, McDATA and Gadzoox. I don't think they've qualified Q-Logic yet.
