Just because everyone is in "cost cutting mode" they aren't going to flock to AMD. They're going to flock to the lowest overall cost + risk. AMD right now still is an unknown in the corporate space, and therefore represents a high risk. They don't have years of board validation experience, Intel does. They don't have a proven track record of server uptime, Intel does.

I'm well aware of the point you were trying to make... ;-)

You were essentially taking the same "spin" the authors of the article took: Rather than detailing Intel's launch plans, the authors indicated the launch was to plug alleged "holes" in Intel's server map.
