You suggested that based upon the past using Vietnam and then used the results of the Gulf War that we should be questioning do we blindly trust that the military will use what intelligence they have in the best way possible?

I concluded the only reason one would question the military was because of the political results that many now seem to question.

You also say " If technology does not dovetail with that, it should not be used IMHO."

If you are technology, weapon systems and OOB ignorant you really cannot express an intelligent opinion. I will not tell a surgeon how to cut and I would not presume to tell the Military how to conduct a War. To the extent I do understand Military Science and the nature of the War in Afghanistan, I have full confidence in what the Military is doing.

You statement that "Heavy bombardment in the Gulf War did nothing." shows me you are very very ignorant of what WAR is about and how OOB is coordinated with layered applications of force to break down an enemy.
