No Scrapps, I think jhild doesn't like BG just because he's an unethical crook. I recall a guy in New York who had a similar "lock" on its construction and garbage industries, and whilst his tactics were slightly different, they were not far removed: John Gotti. Gotti also gave away his reward to others, as you mentioned of Gates. He passed plenty of money on to the youth clubs, community centres, and the less fortunate homeless of his community. He also had much popular support within NYC, itself.
I notice you have ignored many of the actual evidential memos in the case, the declarations of those whom he coerced, and the various ridiculous defenses, "ham sandwiches" and "car radios" notwithstanding. I assume you've read about this case a bit, although leaving those issues unaddressed (btw, jhild has a pretty fair amount of software industry knowledge/experience). I'll grant you, aside from those factual issues, "yes" Gates has made a lot of money. As did John Gotti with construction and garbage. Ethics, means, and ways have an interesting relationship in the how business is conducted. Frankly, I'm surprised at the small value you place on ethical business conduct, and shall consider myself forewarned. |
