Since effigies of Guy Fawkes get burned on bonfires, I thought the celebration was that he got caught, but I was never really sure. I just enjoyed setting off my "bangers" and other fireworks and, of course doing a little bit of childlike terrorist activity by stealing wood from other neighborhood fires and hiding it for our fire :-)
