Here's an interesting approach ... Bombard Taliban with mini-skirts, suggests French author

French writer Michel Houellebecq, who has labelled Islam "stupid," said the United States should bombard Afghanistan with mini-skirts rather than bombs.

Promoting his latest book Plateforme in Milan, Houellebecq said the battle against Islamic extremism would be won by corrupting Muslims rather than by killing them. "The bombing is not very clever, as we will not put an end to religious extremism through force. It would be better to corrupt the Muslims," he said.

"Rather than bombs, we should drop mini-skirts and pairs of earrings, as that is Islam's real weakness," he said. Houellebecq courted controversy in France in August when he described Islam as "stupid" and "dangerous." The comments led some Muslim groups to threaten legal action against him, although many in the publishing industry dismissed the comments as an attempt to hype his latest book. Houellebecq gained worldwide recognition in 1998 with his bestseller The Elementary Particles.
