Based on his objections, he should have come out with this...oh...say...last August....right?

This is very suspicious. Why did this crew wait so long to issue their objections? All this information was known when the merger was announced. What makes this worthwhile at this point?

Not a fan of the merger, but at this point, it's probably in both companies' best interest. Dissolution of the agreement is not going to be good for either company.
