Mary,
RE:"Danny Ainge come to mind"
Ainge batted less than .200 for a toronto bluejay minor league team. Luckily he saw the light and choose basketball.

RE:"The main point is that you have to be an athlete to be a baseball or basketball player and that is not always true for football players. Yes, yes, I know - there are a lot of great athletes in football - but you don't have to be an athlete to succeed. Kyle Turley and Ray Lewis may have certain attributes that allow them to succeed in football - but chances are they do not have sufficient athletic abilities to be good at anything else in sports."

You obiously never played the game. Being big and strong is not enough. You have to have skill.

Do you remember the "superstars competition" where sports people got together and competed in 10 various events?
Baseball payers never did that well, the winners were usually football players OJ etc., one water skier (Wayne Grimdich) and a soccer player, (Kyle Rote Jr.). Track people did well, even a shot putter...and even a weight lifter.
Baseball players were no where to be found in the final standings, just like golfers.

Jim
