IMO, this is where Musharraf can make a difference. Unlike his predecessors, he is not from the landed gentry and is not likely to be extremely corrupt. I think his efforts is genuinely from his heart, mind and soul, and he was able to quickly grabbed the opportunity presented to him that can vastly benefit the country's economy.

Pakistan is indeed at crossroads. The people has to decide whether to support and follow Musharraf's leadership for a more secular and pragmatist government that will transform Pakistan to a buoyant society (and take its place as the leader of stability in Central/South Asia), or go back to the old ways rife with corruption and highly influenced by the religious clerics, where 99% of the people exists to support the wealthy 1%.

The opportunity is here and the "silent majority" has to make a determined effort and stand to fight off the reactionary clerics and other corrupt hopefuls.
