THE RULE: ONLY POST NEWS UPDATES

Ideally, you should post the headline, any portion of the text, and the link.

NO COMMENTARY IS ALLOWED

This thread was created because at the time of the attacks on September 11th, many people at work did not have access to the television or radio, and many online news sites were overloaded.

As time has passed, many people have come to appreciate the "news only" aspect of the thread, and it has become a place where one can come to get the news and not have to worry about differing political opinions. Let's keep it that way.

Up to now, I have given almost everybody a second chance. Most people that have broken the rules have done so by mistake, and have promised not to do so again. However, it is happening more and more and I simply do not have the time to follow up every non-conforming post with a PM.

Therefore, be advised that I will henceforth ban all rulebreakers on the first offense. Don't take it personally. If you have been banned, and you wish to explain yourself, PM me and I'm sure we can work it out.
