Rick. This is definitely a tricky & challenging market.

Don't know anyone who is making the kind of money they made last year or the year before.

As for me? Here's the plan:

1. Substituting selected preferreds & Corp bonds for MMF cash equivalents that are no longer a viable source of income. Plus taking advantage of the moderate price appreciation inherent in carefully selected fixed income plays in an environment of declining long as well as short term interest rates.

2. Trading the golds around core positions.

3. Ditto with a few patch favs.

4. Intermediate to Long Term holds on core positions in several domestic security stocks

5. A reasonable cash reserve to take advantage of expected and unforeseen bargains as they occur.
