Nope. The L3 cache chips are custom for the Itanium. They have somewhere around 100 million transistors each and likely are close to the size of the Itanium chip itself. Ok, somewhat smaller, but the 4Mbyte cartridges need 4 of them. Considering that they run at processor speed, they are likely expensive to make. Here is an example. Note: this chip is no where near fast enough, and it has a suggested price of $165 in quantity 10k...
