Well let's take this one step further. If we go out and buy that SUV or whatever, we should be given minus interest - let's say 2 points just to be fair. Finance it and get a 2% rebate from the government. Wait a second, it should be more. A 10% rebate might tempt me to go out and buy something with the money I don't have.
