Filo, Some folks cant accept others views as intelligent or even intelligently presented unless they jibe with their own. Jerome is one such person. Racial and religous slurs galore but unable to deal with the real possibilities that war brings with it. I brought up the nuke argument because at that time I thought we might have to deal with it in reality. I got intelligent arguments from jacob, cary, richard and others. In pm's i explained what i was trying to say to Sun. I argued the pro nuke point as i would in a college debate. I had no view but it seemed very tempting to me to nuke bin laden in the strict scenario i created. I majored in this stuff at the University of Chicago back in the sixties. We had those debates then. The pro whose name escapes me said that the debate was the most important thing because the debate alone made the bad event less likely because folk on both sides would begin to understand the consequences of their action. Cuban missile crisis proved this in 1962 where we almost went to nuclear war. Guys like jerome are just not capable of this type of thought. Guys like brian demand the world in their image and refuse to deal with the question at all. But like i said many posters benefited from the debate and will be better able to state their opinion later on. It is distinctly possible that bin Laden has some nukes. They may be in afghantistan. They may be on a boat. I hope not. mike PS The second question the amat head in the sand folks cannot deal with is the Moslem debate going on here as well. Policially correct folks cant deal with the possibility that a majority of a religion could condone terrorism or buy into a medieval view of the world. Any such view would be attacked as intolerant. The truth is a victim of that kind of thinking. Again i hope no nukes and no fifth column reality. But we cant be sure, can we?
