Please reread my previous post, because I already made a point to address that question. You are clearly skipping most of the essence of what I am saying! How can you argue with me without understanding my position?

OMG, I can't believe your saying this! You had better take a reading comprehension course, because this was exactly what I had argued against a few responses ago!

Besides, we aren't addressing the economies of price, but rather the cost to Intel. In case you missed the point of IA-64, it was created with the assumption that Intel would implement the same high volume manufacturing techniques to make Itanium a low cost proposition with respect to their competitors. Even though the volumes are low, Itanium is fabbed with the same equipment as their mainstream products. It is not innately different from a manufacturing perspective, even though the design is.

And congratulations on trying to divert the subject away from the SRAM costs, which I have already proved are not as expensive as you might think.
