Correlation is important when deciding what securities to include in your portfolio and how to weight those securities.

Since you do not have a choice to include Intel Capital and Intel separately and you also don't have a choice in how to weight Intel Capital vs Intel, the correlation between the two should pretty much be irrelevant.

Yes, in a theoretical world that particular correlation can affect things, but in reality, it is so far down the importance scale to be essentially irrelevant.
