Have you heard about upstream problems? Recent Phila. Inquirer article had some uncomplementary comments from Bell Atlantic. Dont know whether to dismiss it as FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) from competitor. Here's excerpt:

Critics say the upstream path from the home back to the cable system -- which can be
disrupted by ham radios, blow driers
and other appliances -- is one of the weakest links in cable-modem service.

``Those things are not very good at two-way'' communications, said Ray Albers, vice
president of technology for Bell Atlantic
Corp. ``In the downstream direction toward the home, it's like the water system. And
in the other direction, it's like the sewer
system.''
