P.S. The BLU-82 "daisycutter" is designed to produce as little crater, but to move as much stuff off from above the ground as possible. It was used to make helicopter landing zones, and helicopters don't like to land in craters:

The designers optimized this bomb to clear vegetation while creating little or no crater, and it cleared landing zones about 260 feet in diameter - just right for helicopter operations.
